CONWAY, SC — Elon's Tyson Blocker tossed a complete game five hit shutout as Elon blanked Coastal Carolina, 2-0, Sunday afternoon at Watson Stadium. Elon improves to 21-13-1, 8-3 in the Big South, while Coastal drops to 26-9, 3-2 in the Big South.

Elon catcher Wes Miller would drive in the first run of the game, in the fifth inning on a two out RBI double to left field, scoring Paul Bennett, who reached base on a single. The Phoenix would add another run in the ninth when Robbie Smith singled in Holt Montgomery from second.

Seamus Donovan (2-4) picked up the loss for the Chants, despite allowing only two runs in 7-2/3 innings of work.

Coastal was paced by Ryan McGraw and Brandon Powell who had two hits each.

Coastal will travel to Clemson for a two-game series with the nationally-ranked Tigers beginning on Tuesday, April 15 at 7:15 p.m. The series will conclude on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Elon will host UNC Greensboro on Tuesday.
