ROCK HILL , SC — The 2003 Venture Industries Big South Baseball Championship, presented by P.U.P.S., has been postponed to Friday morning at 10 a.m. due to heavy rains in the Rock Hill, SC area.

Two games were completed on Wednesday, but rain washed out the scheduled third game between top-seeded Winthrop and sixth-seeded Liberty. That game was moved to 11:00 am Thursday, but more inclement weather forced the most recent delay.

Second-seeded Coastal Carolina and third-seeded Elon will follow that game 45 minutes later. Coastal defeated fifth-seeded Charleston Southern 7-2 in the first round earlier Wednesday. Elon knocked off fourth-seeded UNC Asheville 9-4 in the second game Wednesday.

CSU will then face the loser of Winthrop-Liberty 45 minutes following the CCU game, while UNCA is scheduled to face the winner of the Winthrop-Liberty game in the fourth contest of the day.
