Box Score Baseball Game vs. UNC Asheville Suspended Due to Weather The Coastal Carolina University baseball team's game against UNC Asheville has been suspended May 20 due to rain and lightning in the Conway area. The game was stopped in the top of the fifth with Coastal leading 5-0. UNC Asheville has a runner on first and there is one out. The suspended game will begin at 1 p.m.
Freshman Tyler Bortnick (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) and junior Matt Sutton (La Grange, N.C./UNC Wilmington) have belted solo home runs for the Chants. Senior Kevin Salmon (Brentwood, N.Y./Briarcliffe C.C.) pitched 4.1 scoreless innings with three strikeouts.
This will be the second time this season the Chants will pick up a suspended game because of weather. Coastal's game with Liberty April 22 was suspended and played the following day.
The regularly scheduled game against the Bulldogs will start 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game. The Senior Day festivities will happen between the two games.
