Women's Golf Finishes Fourth at Unlimited Potential Classic Freshman Felgueroso wins first collegiate tournament

CONWAY, S.C. -- The Coastal Carolina women's golf team finished fourth at the Unlimited Potential Classic, Sept. 25-26. The tournament, hosted by the College of Charleston, was played at Shaftesbury Glen Golf Club (Par 73 - 6,149 Yards) in Conway, S.C. The Lady Chanticleers held on to their 36-hole position with a 301 in the final round, the third-best score of the last 18, to finish at 899, nine shots behind champion College of Charleston at 890. Araceli Felgueroso (Madrid, Spain/National Performance Centre) broke the school record with a seven-under par 212, passing the previous record of 216 and winning by five shots. It also marked the first time a CCU women's player has finished under par in a 54-hole tournament. Sophomore
Ann Maness (Galivants Ferry, S.C./Aynor) was next for CCU in a tie for 15th at 225, while freshman
Johanna Rodert (Skovde, Sweden) tied for 28th at 230. The Lady Chanticleers are back on the course Fri.-Sun., Oct. 6-8 at the Lady Paladin Invitational. The tournament is hosted by Furman University at the Furman University Golf Club in Greenville, S.C.
