Women's Track & Field Announces Signing of 12 for 2008-09 Season

CONWAY, S.C.-Coastal Carolina University women’s track and field program has added a dozen student-athletes to the 2008-09 roster, Head Coach Alan Connie announced today. The athletes are Robin Callan (Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury), Caitlin Cholewa (Griswold. Conn./Griswold), Kristen Crawford (Greenville, S.C./JL Mann), Kierra Gabe (Adams Run, S.C./Academic Magner), Darialle Henley (Mauldin, S.C./JL Mann), Santresa Jamison (Spartanburg, S.C./Spartanburg), Christian Johnson (Cleveland Heights. Ohio/Cleveland), Mary Lawrence (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty), Ashley Potts (Fort Mill, S.C./Fort Mill), Crystal Robinson (Vance, S.C./Lake Marion), Mia Wyszynski (Berlin, Germany/University of Bremen), and Shanace Isaac (Allendale, S.C./Allendale-Farifax).

 “This year’s incoming class is very special,” Connie said. “This group will not only make an impact in the track and field seasons, but we are also bringing in several athletes (Jamison, Johnson, Wyszynski) who will also make an impact in the cross-country season. Overall, this class has the potential to be one of the best we have ever brought in my time at Coastal Carolina.”

 The Chants start their 2008 cross country schedule Friday, August 29 as they travels to the Gamecock Invitational hosted by the University of South Carolina. The 5k race is slated for a 7 pm start.
