CONWAY, S.C. - The Coastal Carolina University baseball and softball teams will hold a "Rally at the Roost" pep rally Wednesday, Feb. 17 from 5-7 p.m. at Watson Stadium/Vrooman Field in Conway, S.C.

The event will begin at 5 p.m. with a "Taste of Coastal", where restaurants from around the Grand Strand will be giving away free food. Then at 6 p.m., the baseball and softball teams will be introduced to the crowd. The baseball team also will receive its 2009 Big South champion rings during the pep rally. There will be prize raffles and free T-shirts given out at the conclusion of the Rally at the Roost.

The Coastal Carolina Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) also will be collecting new and slightly used shoes as well as monetary donations for Samaritan's Feet.

The Coastal Carolina softball team will start the season Feb. 12-14 at the Palmetto State Showdown in Columbia, S.C., opening with USC Upstate Friday, Feb. 12 at 3 p.m. The Coastal Carolina baseball team will start its season Feb. 19-21 as it hosts the Caravelle Resort Tournment. Coastal hosts West Virginia Friday, Feb. 19 at 4 p.m.
