Women's Track and Field Compete at Duke Twilight

DURHAM, N.C. - The Coastal Carolina University women's track and field team concluded the Duke Twilight Sunday, May 9 with five top-five finishes.

Brittany Connor was the top Chanticleers, winning both the hammer throw and the discus. In the hammer throw, Connor threw 176'7" (53.84m), her third-best throw of the season, and in the discus she had a 144' (43.91m) mark.

Also in the discus, Anjulia Nicholson finished third after tossing 135'4" (41.25m) and Tenasia White placed right behind her in fourth at 132'5" (40.38m).

In the track events, Jenna Kazmierczak competed in both the 100-meter hurdles and the 400 meters. In the 100-meter hurdles, she finished fifth with a time of 16.91 and placed sixth in the 400 meters after crossing the line in 1:10.21.

The Chanticleers had two athletes compete in the 800 meters. Christian Johnson finished seventh in a time of 2:15.17 and Shelby Donahue was not far behind in ninth at 2:19.31.

In the final event of the night, Jessica Dennison finished 25th in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:59.21.

The Chanticleers head to the Georgia Tech Invitational May 14-15 in Atlanta, Ga.
