TUCSON, Ariz. - Coastal Carolina University freshman Ryan Connolly (Charleston, S.C./Bishop England) has been named a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American Team, it was announced today (June 9) by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.

Connolly is 3-0 with a 2.08 earned-run average for the Chanticleers this season. He broke Coastal Carolina's single-season appearances record with 38 and has struck out 46 batters in 47.2 innings pitched. He has held opponents to a .247 batting average and has combined for four shutouts on the season. Connolly struck out seven batters in the win over The Citadel April 13 and did not allow a run in 3.2 innings pitched at the College of Charleston March 16.

Coastal Carolina hosts South Carolina Saturday, June 12 at 12 p.m., in the 2010 Myrtle Beach Super Regional.
