AUGUSTA, Ga. - The Coastal Carolina women's golf team finished in fourth place Monday at the Administaff Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate from the Forest Hills Golf Club.
The Chanticleers carded an overall score of 893 after rounds of 298, 297 and 298 and have finished no worse than sixth place in all four of their spring tournaments this season.
Defending national champion Purdue won the overall title with a score of 859 (290-294-275) and finished 21 strokes ahead of second-place Augusta State (289-293-298=880). UTSA (296-295-297=893) and UALR (299-306-295=900) rounded out the top 5.
Coastal Carolina sophomore Jessica Alexander paced the Chanticleers and tied for fifth overall after firing a 219 (74-72-73), while junior Kaitlin Higginbotham tied for ninth overall with rounds of 71, 74 and 76 en route to a score of 221.
Freshman Courtney Boe finished tied for 20th after carding a score of 225 (78-72-75). Sophomore Brittany Henderson tied for 36th place after shooting a 229 with rounds of 75, 80 and 74. Senior Alicia Grier rounded out the Chants with a score of 236 (79-79-78) on her way to tying for 58th place.
Coastal Carolina returns to action April 1-3 when the Chanticleers travel to Oxford, Miss., to take part in the Rebel Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Mississippi.
