OXFORD, Miss. - The Coastal Carolina women's golf is tied for second place after day one of the Rebel Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Mississippi from the Ole Miss Golf Course.
Coastal Carolina carded an overall score of 298 and shot 10 strokes over par on the par-72, 6,351 yard course. The Chanticleers are tied with both Maryland and tournament host Ole Miss for second place. No. 16 Tennessee stands in first place after shooting two strokes over par en route to an overall score of 290.
Freshman Courtney Boe paced the Chanticleers and tied her career-low by shooting a 71 on her way to finishing the afternoon tied for second overall. The Bluffton, S.C., native birdied four holes during the course of the day, which included three of the last four.
Junior Kaitlin Higginbotham, who also birdied four holes, was next for Coastal and tied for 11th overall following her score of 73. Sophomore Brittany Henderson finished tied for 31st after she carded a 76.
Jessica Alexander ended her day tied for 52nd after firing a 78, while senior Alicia Grier finished tied for 83rd following her score of 82.
Round two begins Saturday morning at 8 a.m. (CST) with a shotgun start.
