2012 Gamecock Invitational 
COLUMBIA - The Coastal Carolina track & field throwers took part in the Gamecock Invitational at the University of South Carolina on Saturday, Feb. 18.
Anjulia Nicholson led the way for Coastal in the weight throw with a second place showing. Nicholson recorded a throw of 15.45 meters (50-8.25).
Brittany Connor placed fourth in the weight throw with a mark of 15.00 meters (48-11.75). Naomi Atkins took 10th after a toss of 12.00 meters (39-4.50).
During the shot put, Atkins had a seventh place showing with a throw of 11.89 meters (39-0.25). Taking eighth in the event was Connor following a mark of 11.00 meters (36-1.25). Nicholson was ninth overall after a throw of 9.98 meters (32-9.00).
The Coastal Carolina women's indoor track & field team will compete in the Big South Conference Championship next weekend, Friday and Saturday, Feb. 24-25 in Blacksburg, Va. The Chanticleers will try to win their sixth conference championship and their first since 2009. During the past two conference championships Coastal has finished second.
