UCF Challenge Live Scoring/Results

SORRENTO, Fla. - Behind a pair of 1-over 73s by Brittany Henderson and Lena Schaeffner Coastal Carolina climbed three spots up the leaderboard to 13th place on day two of the UCF Challenge at the Redtail Golf Club.

The Chanticleers (302-300=602) are 26-over through two days of play and are ahead of 48th-ranked Missouri and 46th-ranked Oregon State at the 18-team invitational. Ninth-ranked North Carolina (287-278=565) leads the field followed by host UCF (287-294=581) and No. 30 Tulane (288-293=581).

Henderson, who entered the day tied for eighth in the 99-competior field, climbed into a tie for seventh with a 70-73=143 (-1) two-day tally. Henderson struggled on her opening nine as she posted three bogeys and a double-bogey; however, the senior countered with a pair of birdies to make the turn at 3-over. After posting pars on her first three holes of the back nine, Henderson sank birdie putts on the par-3 third and par-4 fourth holes. She finished her round with four pars en route to her 1-over 73.

Schaeffner, a freshman, equaled her career-low round with a 1-over 73. The Rettigheim, Germany, native was 1-under through eight holes before a bogey on 18 left her even heading to the back nine. A single bogey on the par-5 sixth hole was Schaeffner's only blemish on the back nine. She now sits in a tie for 27th with a 36-hole total of 148 (75-73).

Jessica Alexander shaved five strokes off her first round 81 to turn in a 4-over 76. Her day featured a pair of birdies on the 470-plus-yard par-5 seventh and 17th holes. The senior is tied for 81st overall.

Frida Castillo used 13 pars to knock three strokes off her day one total and post a 6-over 78. Castillo, who teed off on the back nine, opened her round with eight straight pars before posting her first bogey of the day on the 404-yard, par-4 18th hole. She is tied for 90th overall with a 36-hole total of 159 (81-78).

Marissa Hinchman rounded out the Chanticleer contingent with an 82. Her two-day score (76-82=158) places her tied for 87th.

Coastal tees off on the final round of the UCF Challenge starting at 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday.
