2013 Lady Paladin Invitational Results

GREENVILLE - The Coastal Carolina women's golf team, paced by sophomore Lena Schaeffner, finished 11th at the Lady Paladin Invitational contested at the par-72, 6,266-yard Furman University Golf Course with a 54-hole score of 912.

Schaeffner carded a 3-over 75 on the final 18 holes of the 54-hole tournament en route to finishing the event with a 220, placing 16th in the 90-competitor field. Schaeffner, who started her day on the 10th hole, played her front nine at 2-over. She got back to 1-over on the round with a birdie on one, but bogeyed holes two and three. She played her next five holes 1-under, but a bogey on her 18th and final holes led to her 3-over tally.

Wisconsin claimed the event championship, posting a three-round score of 865 (290-294-281). Clemson secured runner-up honors with a score of 867 (287-291-289). Georgia Regents Augusta (285-288-297=870), East Carolina (301-292-298=891) and host-Furman (290-201-303=894) rounded out the top five teams.

Clemson's Ashlan Ramsey won individual medalist honors with a 7-under score of 209 (68-71-70).

Junior Frida Castillo was Coastal's second-best finisher as she posted 36th-place (tied) showing. Castillo, who carded matching 76 scores on each round of the tournament, tallied a 54-hole score of 228. Castillo closed the event with five birdies, including two during the final round of play.

Marissa Hinchman placed tied for 50th with a score of 231 (75-76-80). She closed the event with 34 pars and four birdies.

Nadia Luttner shaved four strokes off her second-round score to post a 76 on the final round of play. Luttner tied for 56th overall with a 233 (77-80-76).

Redshirt freshman Brooke Kochevar (77-82-82=241) tied for 76th on the individual leaderboard to round out the Chanticleer contingent.

The Chanticleers will have individuals competing in the High Point-hosted Myrtle Beach Invitational at the Myrtle Beach National South Course on Monday and Tuesday. The next team competition for the Chants is the Challenge at Onion Creek in Austin, Texas starting on Sept. 30.
