2013-14 Women's Golf Season Stat/Record Book Update 
OXFORD, Miss. - The Coastal Carolina University women's golf team shot rounds of 308 and 292 over the final 36 holes of the Ole Miss Rebel Intercollegiate, tying for 10th in the 18-team field with a 54-hole tally of 892 (+28).
GRU Augusta, ranked 32nd by Golfstat, won the team title with a 7-over 54-hole score of 871 (286-295-290). Kennesaw State claimed runner-up honors with a score of 874. No. 33 Tulane and Texas State tied for third with matching 12-over 876 tallies. East Tennessee State, ranked 43rd, rounded out the top five after carding a 16-over 880. Tennessee (881) finished sixth followed by No. 27 Kentucky (883), Harvard (885) and Furman (890). The host Rebels tied the Chanticleers for 10th as both team counted a victories over seven institutions, including 44th-ranked Notre Dame.
GRU Augusta's Jessica Haigwood claimed individual medalist honors, firing a 6-under 210 (71-70-69).
Lena Schaeffner, who entered the day tied for 39th at the par-72, 6,313-yard Ole Miss Golf Course, shot up the individual leader board finishing a Chanticleer-best 15th (tied) place. Schaeffner totaled a 3-over 219 score, posting rounds of 75-74-70. Schaeffner's third-round 70 was her seventh of par or better this season and ninth of her career. The sophomore finished the event with six birdies, including three her final time around the course.
Junior Frida Castillo tied for 33rd in the 96-competitor field with a 7-over 223 score. Castillo (71-75-77) counted seven birdies and 34 pars throughout the tournament.
Emee Herbert and Marissa Hinchman tied for 55th on the individual leaderboard with 228 (+12) scores. Herbert (73-78-77) sank a birdie putt during each of her two rounds on Saturday. Hinchman (73-82-73) struggled through her second round en route to an 82, but rebounded to shave off nine stokes -- with the help of three -- birdies in her third round as she turned in a 73.
Bailey Cocca, competing in her second tournament as a Chanticleer, tied for 65th overall after posting a Chanticleer career-best 54-hole score of 230 (+14). Cocca (77-81-72) carded a season-best even-par 72 over her third round. She closed the tournament with three birdies and 36 pars.
The Chanticleers now focus their attention on the 2014 Big South Championship hosted at the Patriot Golf Club in Ninety Six, S.C. The 54-hole tournament gets underway on April 13 and concludes on the 15th.
