KIAWAH ISLAND - Coastal Carolina is tied for first with host College of Charleston after 36 holes of play at the Edwin Watts / Kiawah Island Classic, which is being played on both the Osprey and Oak Point golf courses on the property of the Kiawah Island Golf Resort.

The Chanticleers carded an 11-over 298 on Monday for a two-day score of 589, moving two slots up the team leaderboard and into a tie with the host Cougars (290-299). Chattanooga is third in the 41-team field with a 596 (283-313) followed by Elon (297-301=596) and Old Dominion (293-306=599).

Coastal was co-led on the day by Marie Lunackova and Bailey Cocca with matching 2-over 74 scores. Lunackova (82-74=156) improved over her opening-round 82 to card her 74. She rolled in two birdie putts and 12 pars during her second round. Cocca, who is tied for 16th on the individual leaderboard with her 36-hole 149 score (75-74), carded a team-best five birdies on Monday along with seven pars.

Malene Krolboll Hansen is tied for third with a 1-under 148 (68-75) total. Hansen's day consisted of 10 pars, three birdies, three bogeys and a double-bogey.

Barbora Bakova shot a 3-over 75 and is also tied for 16th overall with a 149 (74-75) tally. She was the most consistent Chanticleer of the day with 12 pars along with a birdie, two bogey and a double-bogey.

Lena Schaeffner carded a second-round 76 after posting a 74 during round one. Her two day 150 total has her tied for 23rd overall. Schaeffner's second round was highlighted by a birdie and 12 pars.

The Chanticleer's final round, along with those teams in the top-20, of the Edwin Watts / Kiawah Island Classic starts Tuesday with a 9 a.m. shotgun start on the Osprey Point Course. Team ranked 21-40 after round two will play for the flight championship on the Oak Point Course.
