AUGUSTA, Ga. - Coastal Carolina women's golf entered the second day of the 3M Augusta Invitational 10th on the team leaderboard, but played the last two rounds of the 54-hole tournament a combined 7-under par to finish as the runner-up in the 16-team field, contested at the par-72, 6,246-yard Forest Hills Golf Club.

Host Augusta, ranked 42nd by Golfstat, won the event with a 3-under three-round score of 861 (298-283-280). The Chanticleers tallied a 7-over 871 score (302-283-286), finishing ahead of No. 33 Furman (290-292-293=875). East Tennessee State (878) placed fourth followed by No. 35 East Carolina (887), No. 17 Florida State (889) and No. 21 Texas A&M (896).

On the individual leaderboard, Coastal's Malene Krolboll Hansen and Lena Schaeffner both shot 4-under 212 scores to finish in a four-way tie for runner-up honors. East Carolina's F. Gustafsson Spang was the medalist with her 5-under 211 total.

Three Chanticleers -- Bailey Cocca, Schaeffner and Hansen -- shot rounds in the 60s during round two in leading the Chants into the event's top four. As a team, Coastal posted a 5-under 283 during the second round as Cocca tied for the fifth-lowest round in CCU history with a career-best 67. Schaeffner and Hansen shot matching rounds of 69.

Coastal's third and final round also started well as the Chants briefly jumped to the top of the tournament leaderboard before settling into the second-place slot. The Chants went on to conclude the round 2-under with a 286.

The Chants' second-round 283 ranks as the fifth-best round in program history, while the third-round 286 is tied for ninth-best.

Schaeffner carded round of 73-69-70 for her 4-under 212 score, while Hansen turned in rounds of 74-69-69. The top-five finish was the 12 of Schaeffner's career, while Hansen counted her fourth. Schaeffner, a senior, rolled in seven birdie putts on Saturday and 11 for the tournament. Both of Hansen's Saturday round featured five birdies as she tied for fourth in the field with 13 total birdies and led the tournament in par-4 scoring, playing the holes a combined 6-under.

Cocca tied for 17th in the 89-competitor field, posting a 2-over 221 (79-67-75). She rebounded from her opening-round 79, turning in the best round of her career with a 67. The spectacular round featured eight birdies, including five straight on holes five through nine.

Marie Lunackova shot round of 76-79-73=228 to tie for 40th overall. Her day consisted of three birdies and 23 pars. She started the day with a 79, but shaved six strokes off to close the tournament with a 73.

Barbora Bakova (79-78-74=231) tied for 53rd overall. She sank two birdie putts during her final round. Bakova concluded the event with three birdies and team-best 35 pars.

The Chans return to action March 21-23 at the annual Briar's Creek Invitational, hosted by College of Charleston at The Golf Club at Briar's Creek in Johns Island, S.C.
