Seth Lancaster also hit home runs as Coastal, which ranks second in the nation in home runs with 65, hit a total four round-trippers to mark the fifth time this season CCU has hit at least four home runs in a game.
While Coastal's offense was clicking, CCU junior pitcher Andrew Beckwith improved to 8-1 as he scattered eight hits and three runs (two earned) over six innings. He only walked one and struck out seven. Zack Hopeck pitched the three final innings to earn his first save. He did not allow a hit while walking one and striking out three.

Coastal pushed its advantage to 4-0 with three runs in the second. Seth Lancaster (2-for-4) hit a leadoff single, moved to second on a Matt Beaird sacrifice bunt and scored on a Marks single up the middle. Marks, who took second on his single with a throw to the plate to try and retire Lancaster, scored on a pair of wild pitches. Paez then lined a double to left center field and scored on an RBI double by Owings.
The Chants added to their lead, 5-0, in the third as Cooke hit a one-out, solo home run to left field for the sophomore's second round-tripper of the season.
Coastal scored in its fourth straight inning thanks to a pair of home runs to go up 9-0. Remillard hit a one-out, solo home run to left field in the fourth for a 6-0 lead. Remillard, who has hit a home run in three of his last four games, is now tied for the Big South lead in home runs with Owings, each with 12 blasts this season. Two batters later, Chadwick hit a two-out double and scored on an RBI single by Cooke to give CCU a 7-0 lead. Lancaster capped the scoring by crushing a two-run home run to straight away center field that hit midway up the batter's eye. Lancaster now has four home runs this season.
Liberty got on the scoreboard with three runs in the bottom of the fourth. Andrew Yacyk hit a leadoff double and scored on a double to left by Dalton Britt. Two batters later, Andrew Kowalo singled back up the middle to drive in Britt. With two outs, D.J. Artis reached on an infield single, but a throwing error on the play allowed Kowalo to score to cut the LU deficit to six, 9-3.
Coastal looked as if it would not score in an inning for the first time as Liberty recorded two quick outs in the top of the fifth. However, Owings walked and scored on a double to right center by Remillard. Young then drove a pitch to dead center field for a two-run home run and his 12th of the season to give CCU a 12-3 lead, which proved to be the final score.
