March 20, 2017 Wilmington, N.C. - Coastal Carolina's men's and women's track and field teams won six events, Friday and Saturday in Wilmington, in the two day competition.
Women
In the women's running events, Anacia Hines (12.32) had the fastest qualifying time in the 100m dash and Jonnay Anthony qualified fourth with 12.43. The finals ran Saturday with Hines finishing second at 12.17, and Anthony seventh.
Olivia Coopwood finished second in the 400m dash with her time of 59.00.
Kyla van Graan ran the mile in 5:04.35 to finish in third.
In the 2000m steeplechase, Taylor Creagh placed sixth with 8:02.19.
The 4x100m relay team of Hines, Carina Frey, Tiffany Harris and Anthony finished second with 46.75.
In the field events, Emma Kroger vaulted 3.35m (10' 11.75") to finish first and Elizabeth Allard second with the same height.
Kelsey Briggs in the long jump cleared 5.56m (18' 3") to finish in second. The triple jump saw Courtney Lawson finish in fourth with her distance of 11.06m (36" 3.5").
In the discus, Caroline Pallini threw a distance of 40.44m (132' 8"). While Samantha Layko tossed 50.48m (165' 7") in the hammer throw.
Chloe White won the javelin with 43.07m (141' 3"), while Morgan Boyle (40.42m 132' 7") and Marissa Cain (36.66m 120' 3") finished third and sixth respectively.
Men
The men's running events, Therius Styles (10.84) qualified with the fastest 100m dash time followed by Ryan McCain (10.87) in second. The Chanticleer duo finished the finals in that order with Styles 10.83 pacing the field, and McCain's 10.93 right behind.
Jerome Coaxum Jr., finished second in the 200m with 21.94, with Dee Jennings (22.13) and Erik Eckleben (22.28) in fourth and fifth.
Braylon Wilkerson (1:57.39) finished third and Eric Goings II (1:58.84) eighth in the 800m. In the 5000m run Hutson Baumann finished fifth with a time of 15:24.43.
Jennings (14.69 fastest), Keishaun Limehouse (14.78 second fastest), and Coaxum (15.38 fifth fastest) all qualified for the finals of the 110m hurdles. Limehouse (14.14) and Jennings (14.25) finished one two with Coaxum (15.15) placing sixth in the finals.
In the field events, Deandre Baker's distance of 6.97m (22'10.5") put him in third followed by Eckleben's 6.90m (22' 7.75") in fifth and Brandon Johnson's 6.67m (21' 10.75") in eighth for the long jump.
Baker's triple jump distance of 14.26m (46' 9.5") was long enough to give him first, and Richard Finch IV's distance of 13.55m (44'5.5") was enough for fourth.
Kieran Moore finished fifth in shot put with 14.86m (48'9") and sixth in the discus at 46.23m (161' 6").
Robert Castellani finished first in the javelin with 59.00m (193' 7").
The teams will be back in action March 16-18 in Charlotte, N.C. for the 49er Classic.
