Gamecock Invitational Results

Columbia, S.C. - The Coastal Carolina men's and women's track and field team competed in the Gamecock Invitational, Saturday, in Columbia, looking to build momentum towards their first Sun Belt Championship meet.

MEN

In the field events, Robert Castellani took fourth in the javelin throwing for a distance of 58.55m (192' one and one-half inch).

Brandon Johnson finished fifth in the long jump with his leap of 7.17m (23' six and a quarter inches), and Marquez Moore finished in ninth with 6.91m (22' eight inches).

Deandre Baker and Richard Finch IV placed ninth and tenth in the triple jump with distances of 13.94m (45' nine inches) and 13.65m (44' nine and one-half inches) respectively.

In the hammer throw, Kieran Moore threw 50.98m (167' three and a quarter inches) to place sixth.

Zach Bolton placed fourth in the shot put with his throw of 16.25m (53' four inches), and Kieran Moore finished tenth with his distance of 13.81m (45' four inches).

In the track events, Therius Styles, setting a Chanticleer school record, finished sixth in the 200m with a time of 21.03 and the 27th fastest time in NCAA East Region.

Josh Small finished fourth in the 5000m running it in 16:01.78.

Keishaun Limehouse placed ninth in the 110m hurdles in 14.18, followed by Dee Jennings in tenth with 14.23.

In the 400m hurdles Jerome Coaxum Jr. finished with 52.12, 18th in the NCAA East Region, to place him fifth and Jennings 52.55 put him in seventh.

Limehouse, Styles, Tre Stanley and Coaxum, in the 4x100m relay, finished in seventh with 40.46, a time that moved them to the top of the Sun Belt.

Coaxum, Stanley, Jennings and Braylon Wilkerson ran the 4x400m relay in 3:13.73 to finish fifth.

WOMEN

In the field events, Kelsey Briggs distance of 5.37m (17' seven and one-half inches) placed her in tenth.

Chloe White threw her javelin a distance of 42.21m (138' six inches) to finish third, and Morgan Boyle placed fifth with a distance of 40.77m (133' nine and one-half inches).

Emma Kroger got a height of 3.60m (11' nine and three-quarters inches) in the pole vault, and Elizabeth Allard reached 3.40m (11' one and three-quarters inch) for third and fifth respectively.

In the track events, Lisha Van Onselen finished seventh in the 1500m with a time 4:46.47.

Annie Bothma paced the field in the 5000m finishing in first with 16:51.59, and Rachel Byrd placed third with 18:35.84.

In the 400m hurdles, Hesmari Coetzee finished second with her time of 59.25, the fastest time in the Sun Belt and 24th fastest in the NCAA East Region.

The 4x100 relay team of Carina Frey, Coetzee, Karissa Lunn and Anacia Hines had the fourth fastest time with 46.58.

Olivia Coopwood, Coetzee, Tiffany Harris, and Imani Boatwright placed sixth in the 4x400 relay.

In the 3000m steeplechase, Alesia Muklebust placed second with her time of 11:35.33.
