April 20, 2017 NEW ORLEANS, La. - Senior Vuk Velickovic of the Coastal Carolina men's tennis team was named a second team All-Sun Belt selection in singles Thursday night as the league announced its all-conference members at the annual awards banquet.
It is Velickovic's second all-conference nod as a Chanticleer. The Perth, Australia, native was voted a first team All-Big South selection in singles as a junior last season.
Velickovic, who played the entire season at No. 1, tied for the team lead in singles victories, and had the highest winning percentage in singles matches with a 12-5 overall record. The senior won eight of his final 10 matches of the season, including each of the last six.
In doubles, Velickovic finished with an overall mark of 8-4 while playing primarily on the top court.
Velickovic and the fifth-seeded Chanticleers make their first Sun Belt Championship appearance on Friday with a 3 p.m. (CT) match against #4 Troy at City Park Tennis Courts in New Orleans, La.
