Chanticleers Track and Field Wraps Up Bill Carson Invitational

Greenville, N.C. - The Coastal Carolina men's and women's track and field teams completed day two action of the Bill Carson Invitational in Greenville, Saturday afternoon.

WOMEN | 5 of 6; 85 points

The women's team were led by Kyla van Graan, a first and second place finishes on the day in the 1500m and 3000m runs respectively. Kyla van Graan paced the 1500m field finishing with a time of 4:43.17, and behind her sister Aynslee van Graan, 9:33.34, in the 3000m with 9:59.96.

Olivia Coopwood had a third victory for the women's team in the 400m hurdles with 1:01.94.

Carina Frey placed sixth in the 100m in 12.00 scoring points. Hesmari Coetzee placed third in the 400m, with her time of 55.65.

In the 800m, Alyssa LeClaire finished fourth (2:14.64) and Golden Kumi-Darfour placed sixth (2:17.21).

The 4x100 relay team ran 46.45 to finish in fourth, and the 4x400 relay team placed fifth with 3:58.44.

In the field events, Brandon Johnson placed second in the long jump with a distance of 7.20m (23 feet, seven and one half inches). Deandre Baker finished second in the triple jump with his leap of 14.96m (49 feet and one inch). Kieron Moore threw a distance of 14.68m (48 feet and two and a quarter inches) in the shot put.

The men's track events were led by Therius Styles first and third in the 200m and 100m respectively. Styles paced the 200m field with a time of 21.33, and in the 100m his time of 10.65 put him in third.

Hutson Baumann took first in the 3000m run with 8:39.87. Tre' Stanley won the 400m hurdles with 53.29. Dee Jennings and Keishaun Limehouse had a one two finish in the 110m hurdles with Jennings time of 14.29 leading the way and Limehouse at 14.32 following right behind.

In the 400m Jerome Coaxum Jr finished in fourth with 48.50 and Braylon Wilkerson in sixth at 49.02. Charles Bascom, in the 800m placed fourth with 1:55.26. The 4x100 relay placed second with 40.65, topping the previous best time this season, and the 4x400 relay finished fourth with 3:21.16.

The men's and women's teams will be in action when they travel to Columbia, Saturday (April 15) to participate in the Gamecock Invitational.
