Athens, Ga. - The Coastal Carolina women's soccer team dropped its second match of the season, losing to the Georgia Bulldogs 9-1, Sunday afternoon in a windy Athens.

The loss dropped the Chanticleers to 5-2 on the season as Georgia improved to 4-3-1

The Bulldogs got on the board first in the fifth minute when Mariel Gutierrez sent a corner kick in the middle of the box. The Chants were unable to clear it and the ball found the back of the net for the 1 nil lead.

Georgia pushed the lead to 2-0 when Kelsey Killean scored off the assists from Reagan Glisson and Sydney Shultis at the 22:43 mark.

In the 32nd minute Mollie Belisle scored on a header off assists from Delaney Erwin and Landon Lambert to lead 3-0.

Coastal cut the lead to 3-1 when Brenna Leftwich squeezed a shot by the Bulldog goalkeeper.

Belisle scored twice in the final three minutes for the 5-1 halftime score.

Georgia started the second half getting their sixth goal on a Killean penalty kick in 51st minute. The Bulldogs closed out the scoring on goals by Katie Raylis (73:07) and Belisle (81:36) for the final margin of 9-1.

Coastal Carolina was led by Daniella Famili with five shots. Leftwich added four shots to accompany her goal and Elisabeth Rockhill contributed three shots.

The Chanticleers will return to action Friday, Sept 15 at 6 p.m., as they host Sun Belt foe Georgia Southern to open conference play.
