SAN MARCOS, TEXAS – On Saturday night, the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers dropped their second consecutive road Sun Belt match to the Texas State Bobcats in four sets, 17-25, 25-22, 20-22, 21-22. Freshman
Anett Nemeth led the CCU squad with her eighth double-double of the season as she had a match-high 18 kills and 11 assists.
In set one, the Chants had an early 2-1 lead before Texas State ran off the 15 of the next 16 points on seven Chanticleer errors. Texas State was able to hold on for the set one win as neither team was efficient on offense, but the Bobcats out were able to hit CCU .125 to -.053.
Coastal turned it around for the set two win as they were able to hit .298. Nemeth had her best offensive set of the night as the Hungary native had six kills on ten attempts. Nemeth was crucial in a 5-0 run that put the Chanticleers up late in the set, 22-20, as she had two of her 18 kills. Coastal Carolina would take the three of the last four points for the win.
Texas State won set three and four as it was highlighted by a .486 hitting percentage in third period. Amy Pflughaupt and Janell Fitzgerald led their team in third with four kills apiece.

Kyla Manning added 12 kills and senior setter
Sara Boothe had 27 assists.
Three Bobcats had double figure kills; Pflughaupt (12), Cheyenne Huskey (11), and Madison Daigle (10). Emily DeWalt had a match-high 42 assists.
Coastal Carolina falls to 6-9 overall and 5-2 in the Sun Belt. The Chants return to action as they travel to Appalachian State on Friday Friday, October 19 for a 5 p.m. first serve and then will play the following night at home to the same Mountaineers.
