SCHEDULE
CONWAY – Steve Loeswick, head coach of the Coastal Carolina beach volleyball team, announced the team's 2019 schedule on Tuesday. The Chanticleers will play a total of 28 matches in the spring, including eight home matches at the Coastal Carolina Beach Volleyball Complex.
Coastal begins its season by making its first of two trips to the state of Alabama on Feb. 22-23. With Spring Hill College serving as host, the Chants face Spring Hill and Southern Miss on both Friday and Saturday.
The Chants' second weekend of action takes place in Tampa, Fla., where Coastal plays ASUN member Jacksonville and Tampa on March 1, and UT Martin and Eckerd on March 2.
Coastal makes its home debut on Saturday, March 9, with a pair of matches against South Carolina and UNCW at the CCU Beach Volleyball Complex. It will be the first of two meetings against those opponents in the spring.
After a single match at LSU on March 15, the Chants make the short drive to New Orleans, La., to face Tulane and New Orleans on March 16.
The Chants return to Conway on Friday, March 22, to host Tusculum for a doubleheader beginning at noon. Following the home date, that weekend's action continues in Wilmington, N.C., where Coastal will play UNCW, Florida Gulf Coast, College of Charleston and Carson Newman over Saturday and Sunday.
Coastal closes out the month of March with a single match at South Carolina on the 27th.
The final month of the season begins in Conway as Coastal hosts its final home matches of the season April 5-6. The Chants play Morehead State and Austin Peay on both Friday and Saturday. Jacksonville State will also make the trip of Conway to square off against Austin Peay and Morehead State in neutral-site matches.
The last weekend of the regular season sees the Chants travel to Alabama for a pair of doubleheaders at North Alabama on April 11, and at Jacksonville State on April 12.
The 2019 ASUN Championship will be held April 18-20, with Stetson serving as the host school. The 2019 NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship will run from May 3-5, and will once again take place in Gulf Shores, Ala.
