The Chanticleers made the turn in fourth place at even par, but CCU couldn't keep that momentum going shooting a seven over on the back nine.

Jenjira Jinangkul led the team's opening-day efforts by carding a one-under 71 (36-35). She will head into tomorrow's action tied for eighth.

Only one shot back is fellow sophomore Tiffany Arafi who finished the round with an even-par 72 (35-37). She was one-under on the front nine and one-over on the back nine and will go into tomorrow's round tied for 14th.

Caitlin Evans-Brand is coming off a top-10 finish in last week's Princess Anne Invitational, and started the day with an even-par 36 on the front nine. She ran into some trouble on the back nine to shoot a 39 and finish with a three-over 75. She is tied for 43rd after the first day of action.

Sophia Carlsen had an opposite day than her teammates. While she started the day's action with a four-over 40 on the opening nine holes, she turned around to shoot a 37 on the second nine to finish with a five-over 77.  She is tied for 61st.
