Final Results (pdf)

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Coastal Carolina women's golf team shot a nine-over 289 in today's final round of the Princess Anne Invitational to finish in sixth place.

It was a day of mixed results for the Chants as they made the turn at even-par and in third place, but could not carry the momentum into the final nine holes of the event going nine over on the back nine.

What the event did show was the progress the young Chanticleers have made in the fall season as the 862 (289-284-289) is the best score of the fall's three events. CCU started the fall with a 913 in their opening tournament and improved to an 892 last weekend to the 862 at this event.

Caitlin Evans-Brand turned in the best tournament for CCU. She entered the day in second place at four-under and actually got her score to five-under after 12 holes where she was tied for the lead. The final six holes took its toll on the freshman as she finished today's round with a two-over 72 and in seventh place.

Her three-day total of 208 is tied for the second best 54-hole score in CCU history. Malene Kroboll Hansen owns the record when she shot a 207 at the Golfweek Golf Challenge back in 2016.

Tiffany Arafi finished today's round with a three-over 73 which gave her a tournament total of seven-over 217. Her score had her tied for 26th.

Heidrun Hylnsdottir and Jenjira Jinangkul both shot a 72 in today's final round. Hylnsdotti finished the event one shot back of Arafi with an eight-over 218 and tied for 31st, while Jinangkul was 10-over with a 220 placing her in a tie for 39th.

Sophia Carlsen had a solid 73 in the final round giving her a three-day total of 223 (+13) to finish tied for 55th.

Virginia Tech and LSU finished the event tied for the championship. Each team had a final of three-over 843. Chattanooga finished third at 16-over 856. Central Florida was fourth after finishing 18-over with an 868. Old Dominion was able to jump CCU into fifth by one stroke, finishing with a 21-over 861.

The Chanticleers have their final event of the fall Oct. 13-15 at the Palmetto Intercollegiate. The event will be held in Charleston and hosted by the College of Charleston at the Turtle Point Golf Club.
