Women's Golf in Second after Day Two of Kiawah Island Spring Classic

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's golf team shot a 7-over 295 during today's second round of the 2019 Kiawah Island Spring Classic and will head into the final round in second place trailing North Florida by four strokes.
 
Jenjira Jinangkul led the Chanticleers on the second day of action shooting an even-par 72. She had a consistent second round shooting a 36 on both the front and back nine. Her round consisted of three birdies, a bogey and a double-bogey. She enters the final round of action with a 1-over 145 (73-72).
 
Frantiska Lunackova shot a 2-over 74. She shot a 38 on the first nine holes and followed that with an even-par 36 on her second nine. Frantiska had a team-high four birdies on the day, but she also carded four bogeys and a double-bogey. She also has a tourney total 1-over 145 (71-74).
 
A 3-over 75 was carded by Marie Lunackova, shooting a 37-38 during the round. Her two-day total is also 1-over 145 (70-75). She will enter the final day of action tied for 10th overall with teammates Frantiska and Jenjira.
 
Tiffany Arafi followed her even-par round in yesterday's action with a 2-over 74 today. She was consistent in her play with a 37 on both the front and back nine. She heads into tomorrow's action with a 2-over 146 (72-74). She is the fourth CCU player to be among the top-20 individuals standing tied for 19th heading into the final round.
 
Stephanie Henning's 5-over 77 came after shooting a 40-37. Her two-day total stands at 152 (75-77) and she stands tied for 85th place heading into the final day of action.
 
North Florida over took the Chanticleers after carding a 4-under 284, which was the best round of the day. They are in first place with a 1-over 577, holding that four-shot lead over CCU (581).
 
Rounding out the top five are Delaware and host College of Charleston tied for third at 9-over (585). Tulsa and Stetson will enter the final day of action tied for fifth at 13-over (589).
 
The final round of action for the Chanticleers will move back to the Osprey Point Golf Club, where the top 24 teams will compete for the tournament championship. The final 24 teams will play for flight championships at the Oak Point Golf Club.
