Final Results
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Coastal Carolina women's golf team finished the 2019 Sun Belt Championship in sixth place after shooting a 5-over 293 in today's final round.
The 293 was the Chanticleers lowest round of the event and tied for the second-best round of the day. CCU finished the event with a 27-over 891 (303-295-293).
Freshman
Jenjira Jinangkul finished an outstanding tournament with an even-par 72 in today's round. Her three-day total was a 1-over 217 (74-71-72) and had her finish the event in fourth place overall. For her efforts she was named to the 2019 Sun Belt Championship All-Tournament Team.
The Chants other freshman participant
Tiffany Arafi had the Chants low round of the day. She finished 1-under (72) carding a 35-36 for her under-par finish. Arafi had a tourney total 8-over 224 (75-78-71) to finish tied for 18th overall.
Marie Lunackova shot a 3-over 75 during the final round. Her three-day total of 224 (75-74-75) had her tied for 18th with Arafi at 8-over.
Frantiska Lunackova and
Alexandra Naumovski also had strong finishes in today's round, both shooting a 75. Lunackova's finish had her set at 12-over 228 and tied for 28th while Naumovski finished with a 14-over 230 and tied for 34th.
The event was close with only 14 strokes separating the top six teams. South Alabama won the 2019 Championship with a 13-over 277. Texas State was not far behind after finishing the event with a 16-over 880.
Georgia Southern (882), Troy (884) and Arkansas State (889) finalized the top five.
Texas Arlington followed CCU in seventh place with a 910 and Appalachian State was eighth at 914. Louisiana Monroe (919), Georgia State (930) and Little Rock (945) rounded out the field.
