Conway, S.C. – No. 24 Coastal Carolina will continue its season-long nine-game road swing on Wednesday night, as the Chanticleers take on No. 2 NC State in another top-25 matchup at 6 p.m. ET at Doal Field at Dail Park in Raleigh, N.C.
The two teams met once already this season, as then-No. 21 NC State hit a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to escape Springs Brooks Stadium and the then-No. 19 Chanticleers with a 7-6, 11-inning win between two undefeated teams on Feb. 24.

- Coastal Carolina leads the Sun Belt in a number of statistical categories this season - batting average (.304), runs (269), doubles (66), total bases (572), slugging percentage (.479), hits (363), hit-by-pitch (62), on-base percentage (.416), RBIs (251), home runs (41), sacrifice flies (21), batters struck out (315), batters struck out looking (114) and wins (22).
- Wednesday night's matchup is the second on the season between Coastal Carolina and NC State. The Wolfpack used an extra-inning home run in the top of the 11th inning to escape Springs Brooks Stadium with a 7-6, extra-inning win on the final day of the Brittain Resorts Baseball at the Beach (Feb. 24).
- Entering play this week, Coastal has three players that are in the middle of career-long on-base streaks. Cameron Pearcey has reached base safely in each of the last 23 games this year and has posted a career-high 10-game hitting streak. Kieton Rivers has reached base safely in each of the last 19 contests, while Jake Wright is on an 18-game on-base streak entering Wednesday night's bout at No. 2 NC State.
- Coastal has played a total of four nationally-ranked top 25 teams thus far this season, including a then-No. 21 ranked NC State team back on Feb. 24. The Chants are 1-2-1 versus the top 25 this year with an 11-3 win over No. 25 Illinois (March 1) and a 4-4, 11-inning draw with No. 1 Oregon State (March 10). The two losses have both come to nationally-ranked ACC teams in a 7-6, 11-inning loss to No. 21 NC State (Feb. 24) and an 8-5 loss at No. 18 Clemson (March 13).
- Coastal has recorded a total of five, five-plus RBI games this season by four different players. Jake Wright has driven five or more RBIs twice this season, both of which came in wins at ULM, while Kieton Rivers, Parker Chavers, and Kyle Skeels have all registered five RBIs or more in a game this season.
- Coastal is 6-6 this season in true road games with five of those road wins coming in conference play. CCU has a road win at UNCW (Feb. 19), three at ULM (March 15-17) and two last weekend at South Alabama (April 6-7). In fact, each of their last five road wins has come in Sun Belt play.
- Coastal is 19-1-1 then season when leading after seven innings of play. However, the Chants are only 1-8 when trailing entering the eighth inning and are 2-2 when tied after the seventh-inning stretch.
- The offense broke out the bats last weekend at South Alabama (April 6-7), as the Chants hit a total of eight home runs in the three-game series. Kyle Skeels and Zach Biermann led the way with two home runs apiece, while Parker Chavers, Kieton Rivers, Cameron Pearcey and Mike Koenig all had one home run.
- This season, the Chants are averaging 9.3 strikeouts per nine innings this season. A total of nine different pitchers have fanned more batters than then innings pitched on the year, while the Chants also lead the Sun Belt in batters struck out with 315 overall on the season.
- Coastal Carolina's pitching staff has struck out double-digit hitters in 17 different games this season, including a season-high 14 punch-outs versus Troy (March 22) and 13 Ks in back-to-back wins over Indiana (March 3) and Wake Forest (March 5). The Chants have struck out double-digit batters in six of their last 10 games entering play this week at NC State.
