TOLEDO, Ohio – The Coastal Carolina women's golf team shot a final-round 308 on Tuesday to finish 11
th at the Glass City Invitational hosted by the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio.
CCU posted rounds of 298, 307 and today's 308 to shoot a three-round, team-total of 913.
The tough Inverness Golf Club showed its metal as none of the 13 teams in the event were able to break par. Florida, the event champion, came the closest, shooing a three-day 870 to finish six-over.
A couple of teams from Michigan finished second and third with the Wolverines coming in at 10-over with an 874 and Michigan State with a 15-over 879.
Rounding out the top five were Baylor who finished 17-over after finishing with an 881 and Illinois, one shot back with an 18-over 882.
Tiffany Arafi and
Heidrun Hylnsdottir were CCU's low scorer's in the event finishing nine-over (227). Arafi scored her three-day total shooting a 74, 78 and 75, while Hylnsdottier shot a 75, 77, and 75. They both finished tied for 40
th.
Sophia Carlsen and
Jenjira Jinangkul finished with identical scores of 231. Jinangkul shot a 76, 78 and 77 to attain her score while Carlsen shot a 73, 74 and 84. They finished tied for 53
rd.
Caitlin Evan-Brand tied for 66
th in the event after shooting a 78, 78 and 81 to finish tied for 66
th with a 237.
The Chanticleers will travel upstate to Greenville, S.C., to play in Furman's Lady Paladin Invitational in their next event. The Invite will be played Sept. 27-29 at the Furman Golf Club.
