GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's golf team finished ninth at the Lady Paladin Invitational after shooting a 10-over 298 in Sunday's final round. The third round score was the lowest round of the tournament for the Chanticleers, including knocking six strokes off Saturday's round.
 
Sophomore Jenjira Jinangkul was the Chants top Invite finisher after today's one-over 73 (34-39). She finished with a three-day total of 219 (+3) to finish tied for 12^th.
 
Another sophomore Tiffany Arafi, was CCU's top finisher on the day. She shot a one-under 71 (33-38) to finish her tourney with a 10-over 226. She tied for 32^nd in the tournament.
 
Caitlin Evans-Brand shot a 79 (37-42) in her final round and finished the tourney at 13-over (229). She finished tied for 43^rd.
 
Sophia Carlsen had another solid day finishing her third round with a four-over 76 (38-38). Her three day total, which had her in a time for 48^th, was a 14-over 230.
 
Heidrun Hylnsdottir and Alexandra Naumovski both finished the event at 24-over (240). Hylnsdottir shot a 78 (38-40) in her final round while Naumovski shot an 82 (36-46). The duo finished tied for 81^st.
 
CCU finished the event at 38-over 902 (300-304-298). They were two shots better than Sun Belt rivals Georgia Southern (904) and 20 strokes ahead of Georgia State (922).
 
Wake Forest showed why they are the top-ranked women's team in the nation with a winning score of one-under 863. They were the only program in the 16-team field to finish under par.
 
Furman was not that far behind as they played the event on their home course at the Furman Golf Club. The Lady Paladin's finished with a four-over 868 to grab the runners-up spot.
 
Rounding out the top five were North Florida (886), Old Dominion (891) and UNC Wilmington (893).
 
The Chants will not have many days off as they will turn around and head to Virginia Beach, Va., to play in the Princess Anne Invitational slated for Oct. 4-6.
