HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina's women's golf team won both of their match-play rounds Saturday in the Battle at Old South tournament at the Battle at Old South Golf Links. The two victories moved CCU into the championship match against Florida International University.
The Chanticleers opened the morning match against the University of South Carolina-Beaufort which saw the Chants win the match 5 & 1. That win put them in a round 2 match against Charleston Southern which they were able to pull out 3 ½ - 2 ½.
The second round victory will pit them against FIU who earned a first-round bye with their low-team score in Friday's opening day of action. The Panthers then defeated Jacksonville 5 & 0 in the second round to move into the championship match against the Chants.
The two teams will begin championship play at 8:48 a.m. ET Sunday morning and will begin on Hole 1. The day's action will begin with Jacksonville and Charleston Southern playing in the third-place match, teeing off at 8 a.m. ET from Hole 1. The fifth-place match will have Cincinnati and Western Carolina teeing off at 8 a.m. ET from Hole No. 10.
