Melbourne, Fla. – The Coastal Carolina University women's golf team completed their final round at the Moon Golf Invitational with a 14-over, 299, to finish the tournament with a 28-over 892 and a 15th place finish.
It was a slow start that held the Chanticleers back in Tuesday's final round as they made the turn without a single birdie over the first nine holes. The second nine saw the Chants make a remarkable recovery recording 10 total birdies compared to only seven bogeys.
Heidrun Hlynsdottir had the second-best round of her CCU career with an even-par 72, also the best round of the day for the Chants. Her three-day total of seven-over 223 (77-74-72) was also the second-best score of her career as she lowered her score on each day of the three rounds. She finished the event tied for 61st.

Freshman
Nicole Abelar's round was the perfect example of how the team did in today's action. She came out of the blocks and was seven over after her first seven holes, but rebounded to go three-under on her final 11 holes to finish the day with a four-over 76. She finished the event with an eight-over 224 (76-72-76) to finish tied for 63rd.
