AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Coastal Carolina women's golf team shot a six-over 294 in today's final round of the Valspar Invitational to finish in 10th place. Today's finish in 10th place with a final score of 16-over 880 (295-291-294).
Caitlin Evans-Brand continued her momentum of yesterday's even-par round to finish today's round with a two-under 70. The junior improved her scoring in each round and her three-day total of 222 (80-72-70) placed her in a tie for 45th.
Frantiska Lunackova shot a solid two-over 74 in today's round to finish with a seven-over 223 (74-75-74). She finished tied for 50th.
Junior
Tiffany Arafi and sophomore
Sophia Carlsen each shot a three-over 75 in today's round. Arafi finished the invitational with a six-over 222 (77-70-75) and was tied for 45th. Carlsen's final round total gave her a nine-over 225 and placed her in a tie for 58th to finish the event.
Freshman
Nicole Abelar birdied the first hole of the day, but could not build on that start and finished the day with a five-over 77. She finished the event tied for 45th with a six-over 222.
South Carolina won the event shooting a 30-under 834. Duke was only three strokes back with a 27-under 837. Florida State came in third with a 17-under 847. Wake Forest and Virginia Tech rounded at the top five with a 15-under 849 and a two-under 862, respectively.
The Chants next event is scheduled for April 3-4 at the ECU Easter Invitational at the Ironwood Country Club in Greenville, N.C.
