PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. - The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team fell to the South Alabama Jaguars in a 4-3 nail-biter on Saturday afternoon in the 2021 Sun Belt Women's Tennis Championship semifinals in Peachtree City, Ga.

Coastal's season ends at 14-7 as the Jaguars improve to 15-5 and move on to the championship match with the win.

Coastal would get on the board first as the Chants would secure the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 as the senior duo of Jessie Mount and Somer Dalla-Bona would defeat Cami Moreno and Yurie Takanishi 6-4 on court one. 

The Jaguars would earn a 6-4 decision on court two to level the doubles at 1-1 before the Chants would secure the doubles point with a 7-5 win from Kristyna Jurkova and Valentina Urelli to put the Chants up 1-0 in the match.

The Jaguars would tie the match at 1-1 with a straight-set 6-3, 6-4 win at the No. 2 singles spot and then pull ahead 3-1 with back-to-back wins at No. 5 and No. 1. 

The Chants would storm back to tie the match at 3-3 as Victoire De Samucewicz defeated Moreno of the Jaguars in straight-sets 6-2, 7-6 at No. 3. 

Urelli would win 5-7, 6-4, 6-1 after coming back from a first set defeat on court No. 5 to tie the match up at 3-3.

The Jaguars would get the final point from Aina Domingo-Bernabeu as she held on to defeat Mount in three sets 6-4, 7-5, 6-2  to make the final score 4-3.
