• The Chants are 2-0 so far for the month of May and are 11-8 at home this season.
• CCU broke out the bats last weekend, as the Chants drove in 21 runs on 22 base hits.
• However, the Chants did it with small-ball, as eight of their sacrifice bunts led to eight runs over the three-game series at Georgia State.
• As a team this season, the Chants are hitting .246 with 43 home runs, 66 doubles, 11 triples, 206 RBIs, and 226 runs scored.
• The pitching staff has posted a 4.59 ERA, which ranks sixth in the conference, and is holding opponents to a .256 batting average on the season.

SCOUTING THE TROJANS
• The Troy Trojans are 21-21 overall on the season and 7-8 in Sun Belt Conference play.
• The Trojans, who are 4-13 in true road games this season, are coming off a three-game non-conference series at Florida State (April 30-May 2) in which they shut out the Seminoles 3-0 in game two of the series and held FSU to just seven runs combined over the three games.
• In Troy's last conference weekend series, the Trojans swept Appalachian State (April 23-25) at home, including posting a 12-2 win in eight innings in the series finale.
• However, on the road in conference play, the Trojans were swept in three games at South Alabama (April 1-3) and won just 1-of-3 games at Georgia State (April 16-18).
• At the plate, the Trojans are hitting .271 as a team, which ranks third in the Sun Belt Conference, led the conference in home runs with 44. The Trojans are also second in the conference in hits (383), doubles (80), and slugging percentage (.433).
• On the mound, the Trojans' pitching staff boasts a 4.37 ERA on the season, which ranks fifth in the Sun Belt, and is tied with South Alabama with a league-high five shutouts on the year.

ALL-TIME SERIES
• Coastal leads the all-time series over the Trojans at 8-5 overall, including a 6-3 record over Troy in regular-season conference play.
• Prior to the Trojans' 10-8 win in the last meeting between these two teams in 2019 (March 24), the Chanticleers had won five straight games in the series, including an 11-6 win at the 2018 Sun Belt Conference Baseball Championship Tournament.
• CCU is 4-2 all-time at Springs Brooks Stadium versus Troy and has not dropped a single Sun Belt Conference three-game series to the Trojans since joining the league in 2017.

HOME SWEET HOME
• Coastal enjoyed #ThePalace for the first part of the season, as the Chanticleers played 15 of their first 19 games at home in Springs Brooks Stadium, going 10-5 at home during that span. The Chants are 11-8 at home this year.
• However, since March 23, a home win over the College of Charleston, the Chants have played just four games at Springs Brooks Stadium in the three-game weekend series versus Georgia Southern (April 16-18) and a Tuesday night midweek tilt versus UNCW (April 27).
• With this weekend series versus Troy (May 7-9), seven of the Chants' final 11 scheduled regular-season games will come at home at Springs Brooks Stadium.
• Since the 2015 season, Coastal has recorded 20 wins or more at home each year, outside of last year's shortened season, and has tallied 144 wins at Springs Brooks Stadium counting this year.

SUN BELT SLUMP
• For the first time since joining the Sun Belt for the 2017 season, the Chanticleers dropped their first three three-game conference weekend series with series losses at Louisiana (March 26-28), at UTA (April 10-12), and at home versus Georgia Southern (April 16-18).
• The Chanticleers snapped the series losing streak with a 2-1 series win on the road last weekend in conference play at Georgia State (April 30-May 2).
• With the series win last weekend at Georgia State, the Chants are 1-3 in conference weekend series this year.
• Entering this season, Coastal had won 21 of its 30 Sun Belt Conference series since joining the league, including winning nine of its 10 conference series in 2018.
• Prior to this season, the Chants had lost just seven series in conference play since joining the Sun Belt entering the 2021 season and had lost back-to-back conference series just once (2019).

WELL TRAVELED
• Heading into the weekend home series versus Troy this weekend, the Chants had been road warriors, playing eight of their last nine games on the road and 19 of their last 24 games away from Springs Brooks Stadium.
• The Chants started the most recent road trip at North Carolina (April 20), played three games at Liberty (April 23-25), one of two midweek games last week at UNCW (April 28), and had a three-game Sun Belt Conference series at Georgia State (April 30-May 2).

#14 CHASING 1000
• CCU head coach Gary Gilmore enters the weekend with 995 career wins as the head coach of his alma mater Coastal Carolina.
• That puts #14 just five wins away from 1,000 career wins over his 26 years at CCU.

1 AND 2 IN DINGERS
• This weekend's series between the Chanticleers and Trojans will feature the top two teams in the conference in home runs, as the Trojans lead the league with 44 dingers, just one ahead of Coastal Carolina and its 43 long balls.
