CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team will open up the 2021 fall schedule by hosting the Lynn Stevens Invitational on Friday, September 17, and Saturday, September 18 at the Delan and Lynn Stevens Tennis Complex in Conway, S.C.
Participants in this weekend's action will be regional opponents Charleston Southern, Wofford, and fellow Sun Belt Conference member Appalachian State.
The Chanticleers return a lot of experienced players this season, as five of the eight 2021-2022 Chants have seen action in teal. Among the returning Chants leading the way is 2020 All-Sun Belt second-team singles selection
Victoire De Samucewicz. Junior
Valentina Urelli, and sophomores
Jesse Hollins, Mathilde Tranberg, and
Isabella Weatherhead also return this season after seeing playing time for the Chants last year.
Three newcomers will get their first taste of action as a Chant this weekend. Super senior
Paola Landin Lopez comes to Coastal after a four-year career at Central Oklahoma while graduate transfer
Megan Hopton comes from Tulsa after playing three years for the Golden Hurricane. Fellow newcomer freshman
Anna Babayan will see her first collegiate action this weekend.
Day one of play will begin on Friday at 10 a.m. ET.
