CCU Women's Golf Finishes 11th at Valspar Augusta Invitational
Evans-Brand leads Chants with a seven-over
 
AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Coastal Carolina University women's golf team shot a 16-over 304 in Sunday's final round of the Valspar Augusta Invitational, to finish 11th with a 43-over 619 (315-304), in Augusta, Ga., at the Forest Hills Golf Club.
 
The event's second round was canceled due to weather conditions Saturday afternoon. The teams completed Sunday's round to make it a two-round event.
 
Caitlin Evans-Brand has been the Chants top-scorer most of the spring and this event was no different as she finished tied for 25^th after carding an eight-over 152 (75-77).
 
Sophia Carlsen finished the event tied for 38th with a 10-over 154 (78-76). Tiffany Arafi had the day's best round for the Chants shooting a two-over 74 in Sunday's action. She finished the event tied for 46th with a 12-over 156 (82-74).
 
Jenjira Jinangkul and Sara Sarrion finished tied for 55th and 88th after Jinangkul carded a 13-over 157 (80-77) and Sarrion finished with a 27-over 171 (93-78).
 
Ole Miss and South Carolina finished at the top of the leaderboard with both tied at 14-over 590. Florida State was third with an 18-over 594 and Alabama finished fourth with a 23-over 599. Virginia Tech and host Augusta finished tied for fifth with a 29-over 605.
 
Miami was next on the leaderboard with a 30-over 606 and Furman was one-shot behind with a 31-over 607. San Diego State was ninth (+33, 609), and Purdue finished five shots in front of CCU with a 38-over 614.
 
Following the Chanticleers was Tennessee (+47, 623), Minnesota (+51, 627), Memphis (+54, 558), Georgia Southern (+59, 635), and USF (+60, 636).
 
The Chanticleers will take a week off and get back in action March 28-30 at the Golfweek Intercollegiate at the Caledonia Golf Club in Pawley's Island.
