PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina University women's golf team stands 10-under with just a few holes left to play in the second round, which was suspended due to darkness. The Chanticleers have opened up a 19-stroke lead heading into tomorrow's final round of the Golfweek/Any Given Tuesday Intercollegiate held at the True Blue Golf Club in Pawleys Island, S.C.
CCU's
Caitlin Evans-Brand and
Tiffany Arafi are two of the players that will need to finish their final three holes of the second round early tomorrow before the start of the third and final round.
Arafi currently leads the tournament field with a three-under through 33 holes, while
Sara Sarrion was able to complete her second round and is in second place at two-under after carding a two-day total of 142 (73-69).
Jenjira Jinangkul finished her day at three-over 147 (75-72) and
Sophia Carlsen is just two strokes back with a five-over 149 (80-69). Evans-Brand is sitting at four-over with three holes left to finish on Wednesday morning.
Maika Llarena and
Isabella Spinazze are competing as individuals in the event and both were able to complete their second-round action. Llarena has a 157 (79-78) and is 13-over, while Spinazze is 32-over with a 176.
The top four teams are the teams that will be finishing their second round. Behind the Chants is Incarnate Word at 15-over, followed by SMU at 18-over, and Sun Belt rival South Alabama at 28-over par. Missouri is the clubhouse leader at 33-over par (609).
Tomorrow's second round is set to begin at 8 a.m. ET followed by the third and final round.
