MOBILE, Ala. – On Sunday morning, the Coastal Carolina women's tennis team dropped their final Sun Belt Conference match of the regular season to the South Alabama Jaguars 4-1.
South Alabama claimed the doubles point in the early portion of the match, winning two of those contests. Coastal's
Jesse Hollins and
Victoire De Samucewicz picked up a 6-2 win in the top flight over Nikola Kohoutova and Luminita Tutunaru.
In singles play,
Anna Babayan put the Chants on the scoreboard with a strong 6-3, 6-2 triumph on court five against Otoha Aoki. However, the Jaguars clinched the overall match with a victory on court four.
When the match was halted, Hollins was ahead one set to nothing on court six, 6-3, 1-5.
Next up for Coastal Carolina (12-8, 7-3 SBC) is the 2022 Sun Belt Conference Women's Tennis Tournament in Peachtree City, Georgia, from April 21-24.
