ABOUT THE CHANTS
• Coastal Carolina enters the weekend series with UTA at 19-14-1 overall and 8-6-1 in Sun Belt Conference play.
• The Chanticleers have won three of their last four games, including a three-game road sweep of Appalachian State in Boone, N.C., last week.
• CCU is 11-6-1 at home inside Springs Brooks Stadium this season but is just 1-4-1 at home in Sun Belt Conference play.

• Two Chants in Tyler Johnson (.365) and Eric Brown (.321) are both hitting over .300 on the season, while six different Chants have driven in 20 or more RBIs on the year.
• The pitching is in the middle of the pack in the Sun Belt this year, as the Chants' arms have posted a 4.97 ERA and fanned 310 batters over 295.0 innings pitched.
• Starting pitchers Reid VanScoter and Michael Knorr lead the pitching staff in ERA at 2.79 and 2.97, respectively, and in strikeouts as both have fanned a team-high 50 hitters this season.

ABOUT THE MAVS
• UT Arlington comes to Conway, S.C., with an overall record of 11-26 and 4-11 in conference play this season.
• The Mavericks have lost eight straight games entering play this weekend and are just 2-14 on the road this season.
• The Mavs are hitting .256 on the season with 15 home runs, 153 RBIs, and 174 runs scored.
• The pitching has posted a 6.81 ERA and allowed 238 earned runs this season, which are both last in the Sun Belt.

ALL-TIME SERIES HISTORY WITH UTA
• The Chanticleers hold a 7-4 edge in the all-time series with UTA.
• CCU is 1-1 at home versus UTA as both contests went 10 innings in the 2019 Sun Belt Conference Baseball Championship Tournament hosted by Coastal Carolina.
• The last time the two teams met was last year in Arlington, Texas, where the Mavericks took two of three from the Chanticleers, winning each of the past two meetings.

EXTRA, EXTRA
• The Chants and Mavs have met 11 times overall on the baseball diamond, with three of those contests having gone extra innings.
• In those extra-inning games, Coastal is 2-1.

SUN BELT CONFERENCE PLAY
• The Chanticleers immediately turned heads in the Sun Belt Conference in their first season in the league in 2017, going 22-7-1 in conference play to win both the Sun Belt Conference East Division and Sun Belt Conference Regular-Season championships.
• Coastal went on to repeat in 2018 and added the Sun Belt Conference Tournament Championship title, posting a 23-7 regular-season conference record along the way.
• Despite slipping to 15-13 in conference play and finishing fifth in the regular-season standings in 2019, the Chanticleers ran through the Sun Belt Conference Tournament to repeat as tournament champions.
• After 2020 was canceled, the Chants had their worst conference season in over 25 years in 2021, finishing the conference regular-season slate at 9-12 overall.
• This year, CCU is just 8-6-1 to start Sun Belt Conference play.

NOW OR NEVER
• With the halfway point of the Sun Belt Conference regular-season schedule here, the Chanticleers will be looking to make a move up into the top half of the 2022 Sun Belt Conference regular-season standings with a strong showing this weekend versus UTA.
• The Chants sit in seventh overall at 8-6-1 and just a half a game behind Troy, South Alabama, and Louisiana who are all tied for fourth at 9-6.
• The top six teams in the regular season standings make the postseason conference tournament and avoid the single-elimination first-round games.

HOME. SWEET. HOME.
• Coastal enjoyed #ThePalace for the first eight games of the season and the month of February.
• After playing four games on the road in the first week of March - at UNCW (March 2) and North Carolina (March 4-6) - the Chanticleers returned home for what turned out to be a seven-game homestand versus Wake Forest (March 8), Xavier (March 11-13), and ULM (March 18-20).
• However, Coastal suffered a three-game series sweep at home to Georgia State (April 8-10) and will look to bounce back in the win column at home when the Chants return to Springs Brooks Stadium this weekend, April 22-24, versus UT Arlington.
• The Chanticleers are 11-6-1 at home this season.
