Women's Golf in Eighth after Second Round of the Lady Paladin Invitational

Arafi tied for ninth individually

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina University women's golf team is in eighth place after two rounds of the Lady Paladin Invitational. The Chants shot an eight-over 296 in today's round and have a team score of 20-over 596 (300-296) after 36 holes.
 
Tiffany Arafi shot a one-under 71 in today's action and is tied for ninth after the first two rounds with an even-par 144 (73-71). She had a team-high five birdies on Saturday and enters the final round tied for ninth as only seven strokes separate Arafi from the top individual score.
 
Sophomore Sara Sarrion shot an even-par 72 to give her a two-round total of three-over 147 (75-72) which has her tied for 20th. Luisa Gibson had an up-and-down round for the Chants in today's second round. She entered the back nine at even-par on her round, but struggled going four-over in the final nine holes to finish the day with a 76 and stands tied for 34th with a seven-over 151 (75-76).
 
Sophia Carlsen has been consistent over the first two rounds shooting a five-over 77 in each round. She is tied for 62nd with a 154 (77-77) heading into Sunday's final 18 holes. Isabella Spinazze knocked four strokes off her opening round and will enter Sunday's action 87th with an 18-over 162 (83-79).
 
The Furman University Golf Course continues to be difficult to play which sees only 17 strokes separate the top 10 teams. Host Furman and Sun Belt member Old Dominion are tied for the lead as each has carded a six-over 582 in the first two rounds. Memphis is third at nine-over 585 with UNCW (+10, 586) and North Florida (+12, 588) rounding out the top five.
 
Sixth-place Georgia State (+13, 389) is only one stroke out of the top five, while Tulane (+17, 593) is only three strokes in front of the Chants (+20, 596), with new Sun Belt member James Madison (+22, 598) in ninth and Minnesota (+23, 599) standing 10th.
 
Western Kentucky (+24, 600) leads the rest of the field, followed by Richmond (+30, 606), FAU (+30, 606), and FGCU (+30, 606) who are all tied for 12th. Daytona State College (+31, 607), South Florida (+34, 610), Augusta (+35, 611), and Stetson (+36, 612) complete the field.
