Spartanburg, S.C. - The Coastal Carolina men's and women's cross country teams competed in the NCAA Southeast Regional meet today in Spartanburg, S.C., hosted by USC Upstate at the Roger Miliken Center.
The Chants are coming off a dominant performance at the Sun Belt Conference Championship on Oct. 28 where senior Molly Jones claimed her second consecutive conference title and junior Ellie Wolski ended the meet with her fourth top-three finish of the season.
Today, less than 24 hours removed from being named the Sun Belt Women's Runner of the Year, Jones finished 38th and second among the four CCU representatives in the women's 6k event behind Wolski who placed 37th with a 20:52 time.
Junior Amilia Wise-Sweat, who was named to the All-Sun Belt Conference Third Team earlier this week, finished 172nd and freshman Megan Dolan came away with 211th and a 24:15 final time.
On the men's side, senior Nehemiah Cionelo claimed the highest placement for Coastal, finishing 101st with a 31:21 time.
Rounding out the individual leaderboard, freshman Adam Groves and Sterling Sellier came in 164th and 186th, and juniors Julian John and Jack Benoit finished 169th and 220th, respectively.
Next up, the Chants will conclude their fall cross country schedule when they travel to Charlottesville, Va. for the NCAA Championship on Nov. 18.
