MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – On day one of the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational, the Coastal Carolina men's track & field team had two throwers compete in the hammer throw event, highlighted by sophomore Michael Martello setting a new personal-best mark.

Martello finished 12th overall with a personal-best distance of 46.15 meters.

Fellow Chant Killian Oberheu also competed in the event, as the freshman turned in a mark of 34.13 meters to place 37th overall.

Day two of the meet will begin at 10:30 a.m. ET at Doug Shaw Stadium.
