TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Coastal Carolina University women's golf team finished in 12th place at the FSU Match Up, finishing the event with a 119-over 983. The par-72, 6,250 yards Seminole Legacy Golf Course played hard on the final day of action as none of the 12 teams finished below par for the round nor were any of the teams below par for the three-day event.
Junior
Luisa Gibson (37-38-78) finished the event tied for 13th with an eight-over 224. Her two-under on the par three holes had her tied for first on the par-3 with a 2.83 average. She also finished the event tied for 18th in par-4 scoring with a 4.23 average.
Clare Gimpel finished tied for 58th with a 32-over 248 (84-83-81), while
Maika Llarena finished 61st with her 33-over 249 (81-88-80) and
Isabella Spinazze finished 63rd after carding a 46-over 262 (88-92-83), just in front of
Elan Fleetwood, who finished 64th at 56-over 272 (89-92-91).
Host Florida State was four-over par in Sunday's final round and finished the event with an even-par 864. Augusta was the closest team to the Seminoles and finished 25 shots behind FSU in second place with a 25-over 889. The rest of the top-five teams on the team leaderboard were Kentucky (+28, 892), Kent State (+39, 903), and Tulane (+41, 905).
The rest of the field included Purdue (+44, 908), Oklahoma (+62, 926), Notre Dame (+72, 936), Mercer (+76, 940), East Tennessee State (+79, 943), and Daytona State (+88, 952) ahead of the Chants.
The Chants will be back in action at the Golfweek/Any Give Tuesday Intercollegiate on March 27-29. It will be played at the Caledonia Golf Course in Pawleys Island, S.C.
