DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Coastal Carolina University women's golf team finished in 12th place overall with a three-round score of 80-over 944 at the 2023 Sun Belt Conference Women's Golf Championship after shooting a 34-over 322 in Tuesday's final round at the LPGA International Hills Course in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Sara Sarrion (74-75-73) led the Chants with a six-over 222 to finish tied for 12th. She finished the championship tied for eighth in par-3 scoring average (3.00) and tied for ninth in par-5 scoring average (5.00). Sarrion had eight total birdies over the three rounds, which was tied for seventh.
Luisa Gibson (74-77-82) finished tied for 40th with a 17-over 233.
Maika Llarena (79-80-83) tied for 49th after shooting a 26-over 242, while
Isabella Spinazze (83-80-84) finished the championship 54th at 31-over 247.
Elan Fleetwood played the final round for the Chanticleers and shot a 12-over 84.
ULM won the Sun Belt Conference Championship in a two-hole playoff over Texas State. The Warhawks started the final round leading the championship, but Texas State came on late to force a playoff as both teams finished 16-over 880. Arkansas State (+24, 888) finished third, followed by Georgia Southern (+36, 900) and Southern Miss (+38, 902).
South Alabama (+40, 904) finished sixth, just four strokes in front of Old Dominion (+44, 908), who finished one stroke ahead of JMU (+45, 909). Georgia State (+46, 910) and Troy (+49, 913) finished ninth and tenth.
Marshall (+73, 937) finished in front of the Chants (+80, 944), with Appalachian State (+100, 964) finishing behind CCU.
