PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas. – The Coastal Carolina University women's golf team finished ninth at the White Sands Invitational after posting a 10-over 298 in Sunday's final round at the Ocean Golf Club. After the first round of the event was rained out, the Chants shot a two-day total of 41-over 613 (315-298).
Senior
Sara Sarrion had one of the top rounds of the day when she finished with a one-under 71 in Sunday's action. She finished the event tied for 13th with a six-over 149 (78-71).
Freshman
Aoife Devaney finished tied for 33rd with an 11-over 154 (77-77), while another freshman
Ella Murray, finished tied for 38th after scoring a 12-over 155 (78-77).
Varatkarn Kunkaew finished tied for 44th with a 14-over 157 (84-73), while
Carolina Hortian was tied for 52nd with a 17-over 160 (82-78).
Isabella Spinazze, playing as an individual, finished 62nd with a 31-over 174 (86-88).
It was a tight field as only 30 strokes separated all 10 teams with Kansas making a push with the only sub-par round of the day to move up three spots and finish first with a 15-over 587.
Purdue was second with a 17-over 589, and Baylor was third with a 19-over 591. Texas A&M finished fourth at 23-over 595, while Missouri rounded out the top five with a 26-over 598.
Georgia finished sixth at 32-over 604, followed by Xavier (+38, 610), College of Charleston (+40, 612), Coastal (+41, 613), and Abilene Christian (+45, 617).
The White Sand Invitational brings an end to the fall portion of the Chanticleers golf schedule. CCU will be back in action Jan. 27-28, 2025, at the Sea Best Invitational at the San Jose Country Club in Jacksonville, Fla.
