VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Coastal Carolina University women's golf team moved up two spots after shooting an 8-over 288 in Saturday's second round at the Evie Odom Invitational at the Princess Anne Golf Club in Virginia Beach, Va. The Chants moved into a tie for ninth place with a two-round total of 25-over 585 (297-288).
 
Senior Sara Sarrion had the top score in the round, shooting a four-under 66 (35-31). She finished her round with five birdies and only one bogey to go along with 12 pars. She enters the final round tied for second place with a two-under 138 (72-66), only four strokes behind the leader.
 
Sarrion's 2.92 scoring average on the par-three holes is tied for second in the tournament, while she is tied for third in both par-four scoring (3.88) and in total pars with 26.
 
Varatkarn Kunkaew moved up 19 spots with her even-par 70 (34-36) in Saturday's action. She enters the final round tied for 24th with a five-over 145 (75-70).
 
Freshman Ella Murray is tied for 53rd with a 10-over 150 (75-75), while Aoife Devaney is tied for 58th with a 12-over 152 (75-77) and Carolina Hortian is tied for 69th with a 15-over 155 (78-77).
 
The College of Charleston took over the top spot with a three-over 563 which is four strokes ahead of Furman's seven-over 567. Sacramento State is third with an eight-over 568, while Old Dominion and Western Kentucky are tied for fourth at 18-over 577.
 
Penn State has moved into sixth with an 18-over 578 and Miami and Notre Dame are tied for seventh with a 19-over 579. Chattanooga is tied with the Chants for ninth with a 25-over 585. The rest of the field includes North Florida (+29, 589) in 11th, Richmond (+35, 592) and Princeton (+35, 592) tied for 12th, and James Madison in 13th at 44-over 604.
