VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Coastal Carolina University women's golf team finished 12th at the Evie Odom Invitational with a 42-over 882 (297-288-297).
Sara Sarrion was the top finisher for the Chants finishing 18th with a five-over 215 (72-66-77). Sarrion did finish the event tied for eighth in par three scoring at 3.06.
Varatkarn Kunkaew finished tied for 32nd after carding a 10-over 220 (75-70-75) and
Ella Murray finished tied for 42nd with a 12-over 222 (75-75-72).
Aoife Devaney finished tied for 58th with an 18-over 228 (75-77-76), while
Carolina Hortian finished tied for 62nd with a 19-over 229 (78-77-74).
The College of Charleston pulled away in the final round to finish as the only team under par with a one-under 839. Furman finished second at 14-over 854, followed by Miami (+21, 861), Sacramento State (+22, 862) and Notre Dame (+27, 867) to round out the top five.
Old Dominion (+29, 869) finished sixth followed by Western Kentucky (+30, 870) in seventh. Chattanooga and Princeton tied for eighth finishing 31-over 871. Penn State was 10th (+38, 878) followed by North Florida (+39, 879), the Chants (+42, 882), Richmond (+49, 889), and James Madison (+63, 903).
The Chants will play their final fall match Oct. 18-20 at the White Sands Bahamas NCAA Women's Invitational at the Ocean Golf Club in Paradise Island, Bahamas.
