CONWAY ---- Coastal Carolina football dropped a 26-6 contest to Georgia Southern on Saturday night at Brooks Stadium in its final home game of the regular season.
The Chanticleers posted field goals in the first and third quarters as they dropped to 5-6 (2-5 Sun Belt) on the season. With the win, GS improved to 7-4 (5-2).
Coastal held a 163-90 advantage on the ground thanks in large part to
Braydon Bennett's 138-yard performance. He averaged 8.6 yards on 16 carries, including a 67-yard run the second play of the third quarter.
Matthew McDoom and
Barry Brown led the Chants defensively with 21 tackles between the pair.
CCU returns to action Saturday, Nov. 30 when it travels to Atlanta to face Georgia State. Kick is set for 2 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
